to discuss the issue on which there are tons of questions from confused Christians ... that Halloween.
31 October is the day the Lord has made, and we Christians should rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24). Romans 14:05 says: "A man honors one day above another:. Second esteemeth every day alike Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind." As it could be argued 31st October is the devil high holy day, the second May choose to "buy out" the day participating in their church is the "Holy Ween" Fall Festival or some such thing. We Christians seem to be, of course, tend to accumulate as many rules as we can, according to the standards that we expect everyone else to live. Usually, however, to judge others what they do and to judge by our own good intentions.
Even if there is no devil (trust me, there is) the fact that the abhorrent things done in honor of Satan on that day around the world. Halloween history is very corrupt. The file is pretty thick on the evil of history and current practice, not to mention crime statistics from police officers. Flipping through files, it is surprising how quickly the flow of information in the subject of witchcraft, Satanism and violent crime.
Halloween is the most important festival of sorcery. Its history goes back 2000 years to the Druids, an ancient pre-Celtic priestly order of Gaul, in honor of Samhain (pronounced Sa-Ween), lord of the dead. A very vicious people, and the Druids! They are believed to have built Stonehenge, a monolithic stone carvings in England, where human sacrifices took place. Stonehenge is believed to have been built to calculate the movement of the sun and to determine the exact day on which to honor the goddess of Mother Earth through human sacrifice. What day would that be? Halloween, of course.
The name "Halloween" is derived from the phrase "all Saints Eve", 31 October, the eve of Samhain, the Celtic New Year. Samhain was reportedly invited all the evil souls who died last year and demons, fairies, elves, ghosts sprang from hell. To ensure the fertility of crops and livestock, the firstborn of the children were offered as human sacrifices to satisfy the thesis of evil creatures. Today, we imitate the folk and demonic practices of dressing like monsters, demons, skeletons, undead, as we go to a Halloween party and "trick or treat." As Christians, Scripture teaches us to think about what is "... true, noble, right, pure, lovely and admirable ...," (Philippians 4:8) and" ... avoid the appearance of evil "(1 Sol. 5:22). We can do when wearing a horrible, horrible, blood covered creature? Probably not. Can we dress up as something funny or threshold and pass out candy and cartoon gospel tract? Will the self-righteous statements like: "I am a Christian and I do not do Halloween" do nothing but drive saved our associates and neighbors? Even our children?
It is believed that these demons insisted on the "treats" to keep them in performing their "tricks" or curses on people's lives. So, people will leave the best food and drink for them on the doorstep, usually devour stray dogs, cats, wild animals and vagrants. If dissatisfied with the treats, it was the fear that they could enter the house, causing destruction of property or persons, or destruction of water well, killing livestock, souring milk, illness and even death.
In 834 AD, the Catholic Church moved All Saints Day from May to 1 November (to placate the Roman worshipers of Pomona, goddess of fruit and trees), and recently won the descendants of the Druids in Germany and Scandinavia. So, Halloween is often celebrated as the eve of All Saints with the same respect for the dead. Biblical Christianity is about life! Jesus said: "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life" (Jn 14:6). He said that he came to me May have "... the life and life more abundantly" (Jn 10:10). Our faith is not about death. We serve a Savior who said, "Death, where is thy sting?" (1 Cor 15:55). Christian's focus should be on bringing the resurrected, eternal life with others, and the fact that students do not pray for or fearing the dead.
demons are not just matters of superstition. Symbols are the very things that used by those who have embraced the occult in the evocation of spirits they represent. Hey, if they are symbols of meaning, we may adorn the walls of their church as a safe with a swastika as well as the crosses! Bobbing for apples? Originally a means of divining the future. Jack o'-lanterns? He came from a story about a man who tricked the devil into leaving him alone and he was denied heaven and hell, but the light path at night carries a glowing coal in a carved out turnip. Witches were often pictured with black cats, owls and rats. Practitioners of witchcraft believe these beings are the best place to accommodate the familiar spirits, demons that can predict the future and act as spirit guides for a witch or an entire coven. Ravens, owls, broomsticks, boilers ... has a wicked history of every aspect of Halloween symbols and traditions. "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil roams around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:08 ).
Children who are on the edge, loners and thrill seekers desiring acceptance and inclusion are most prone to getting involved in the deeper levels of occult practices. Many of these practices are ultimately the criminal level, not just spiritually. Many of our people prisoners are behind bars because of some crime committed in the name of Satan. Horror movies are one way to get a lot of children exposed to the occult, not to mention how easy it is these types of materials available in libraries. In schools, books related to the spooky things are available to all ages. Of course, they are generally funny cartoons. Some are very well written. If you were Satan to lure you in your child, or to disarm, but uninformed parent?
As parents, if you are convicted on the spiritual significance of Halloween, train their children accordingly. Train them not to condemn those who do not celebrate Halloween, too. Use the opportunity to witness the love of Christ. If someone asks why not celebrate if you describe - go ahead and share. It is not to condemn or holier-than-thou way, but to speak the truth in love. You May want to pass out candy and gospel ways for kids to stop. In an effort to replace traditional (generally the best you ever just say 'no' without giving the child a substitute), watch old black and white comedies and eat junk food and candy and teaches ways to costumed visitors. That's what I did with my children and instilled the love Hollywood's golden age of movies, his songs and made the memories are still talking about tome.Bundeve engraved with the words "Jesus Saves" or something like that can even illuminate your window. As a family, pray for the safety of those who consciously or unconsciously, to participate, Christian or not. Make the evening the real world ... and fun! Pray against those who might use the opportunity to physically harm or kill innocent people with tainted candy, or through participation in Satanic practices.
Yes, STILL casualties occurring in the name of Satan. Although the Christian children (adults too) cajoling ou costumes and enjoying the party atmosphere, a true servant Dark Side glory dead as they have for 2000 years, some with tax exempt status from the IRS, which recognizes the religious nature of their beliefs. Satanists communion with the devil himself, this is not the day scoffed at for them. It is their high wicked day, a direct attack on Christianity because blaspheme beliefs without other major world religions.
Harvest festivals and hayrides are fun, but stay away from things that evoke the spirit (demon) out of fear. Horror movies and haunted houses, for example. Without asking, someone once dragged my youngest off a haunted house Halloween and it's a lot of prayers to nightmares and constant anxiety to stop (I was livid)! "As for me and my house we will serve the Lord" (Joshua 24:15 ).
Pray for wisdom and guidance. Do not be accusatory or judgmental towards others. Take every opportunity to share Christ and speak the truth in love, as I am sure you will!
